History was made on Saturday night when Miss
Anguilla in the person of 15-year-old K’nyshau Cameron for the first time strutted away with the title of Miss Digicel Haynes Smith Talented Teen after am***ing a total of 744 points.
Runners-up included Miss Cuba who placed first runner-up with 719 points, Miss St. Vincent & the Grenadines placed second runner-up with 711.5 points and third runner-up went to Miss Bermuda who hoarded 704 points.
The event took place at Carnival Village and drew a m***ive crowd. The evening saw an elaborate display of diverse cultures and profound talent. Participating countries included, Bermuda who participated for the first time, Guyana, USVI, BVI, Trinidad & Tobago, Antigua and Barbuda, Curacao, Cuba, Grenada, St. Lucia, St. Vincent & the Grenadines and host country St. Kitts.
The show consisted of four segments, product number one was won by Miss
Anguilla, amb***adorial appearance went to Miss Guyana, Tennicia Defreitas; performing talent was won by Miss Cuba, Lina Manso, with a saxophone number. The closing category was evening wear/interview appearance.
Other highlights included sideshows with performances by St. Vincent & the Grenadines upcoming star Orande ‘Bomani’ Charles, Digicel’s rising star, local artistes such as Bamboo B and D’Emb***y.
The show culminated with the crowning of the 2007 Digicel Haynes Smith Talented Teen, by Minister of Education, Youth, Social and Community Development Sam Condor.
