Home series kicks off - AntiguaSun
Thursday July 03 2008
Tomorrow, the Digicel Home Series kicks off at Warner Park Cricket Stadium with West Indies vs Australia. In your opinion, how is the West Indies cricket team performing and what are your feelings about the game? Carlton Dupont: “The current West Indies team doesn’t have any full understanding of the meaning of cricket to Caribbean people. There is no hope of West Indies winning any game in the upcoming series, however, I am asking people to support cricket since the government gave (us) a holiday. Cricket unifies Caribbean people…nothing brings us together more than cricket. (Additionally), there’s no reason why Omari Banks from Anguilla should not be among them.” Rest of th Article Beginning of the Article Taminqua Dorset (Government Headquarters): “As a West Indies fan, I think they will perform to the best of their ability on Friday, however, I think the team is too relaxed, but I am depending on them and I have courage in them that they will perform outstanding.” Thomas Douglas: “West Indies need to work on their policy a little harder. They drew with Sri Lanka and we were looking forward to a better result. On Friday, they would go up against a world champion team. They (West Indies) are down to three and we hope that they win the last two and make us feel proud of them.” Charlene Hodge of Government Headquarters: “Personally, I am backing West Indies but to me they don’t try their best at times. I find the players are a bit relaxed. I wish them the best because they will need it.” |
