Montserrat to host prison conference Published on May 01, 2007
BRADES, Montserrat: Montserrat will host a Conference for Chairman of Prison Visiting Committees from Britain’s Overseas Territories from May 8 to 10, 2007.
Delegates are expected from five Overseas Territories, namely,
Anguilla, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Turks and Caicos and the Cayman Islands, along with the local members of the Prison Visiting Committee. St Kitts and Antigua have been specially invited to attend.
The Conference is aimed at bringing together delegates to share best practices as well as to explore a range of related social, legal and other issues.
A facilitator has been identified by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, who will co-facilitate the Conference with Superintendent of Prisons Peter White. Sponsorship for the event will be shared jointly by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the Government of Montserrat.
