NATIONAL BANK OPENS 18th ATM - Democrat Newspaper
The St. Kitts – Nevis and Anguilla National Bank opened its 18th ATM in a small ceremony at Buckley’s Site on Wednesday 19 December. The ceremony was attended by bank officials, Constituency Representative for the area Deputy Prime Minister the Hon Sam Condor, hospital officials and local business owners. Attendees were addressed by Minister Condor and the Managing Director of the bank who both discussed the many strides this indigenous institution has made throughout its thirty – five (35) years of service within the Federation and the wider OECS region through its involvement in the ECSE.
Minister Condor praised the bank’s vision of empowerment of the ordinary man in the Federation while Director Lawrence outlined the amazing catalogue of achievements of the bank over the years. He listed several firsts including; first ATM, first tele-banking provision, first internet banking program, first point of sale operation and first internationally branded debit card. He also took the opportunity to alert the public to the introduction of a new program at the bank to be initiated next year called the Home Improvement Program.
The ATM was officially declared open by Mr. Walford Gumbs, Chairman of the board of directors of the bank after he cut the ribbon. Mr. Gumbs also made the first withdrawal from the new machine to the applause of those gathered.
