TT hunts for Solicitor General in AnguillaSaturday, May 5 2007
ANGUILLA is an island measuring just 16 miles by three miles with a population of just 13,000 people. Yet it is apparently being seen as a possible place from which to recruit a new Solicitor-General for Trinidad and Tobago, whose post remains unfilled since February 20, 2006.
This was revealed in the House of Representatives yesterday by Government in reply to a long-standing question by Leader of the Opposition Kamla Persad-Bissessar who asked what was being done to fill the key post.
Government revealed that last June, the vacant post had been advertised in newspapers across 16 Caribbean territories including
Anguilla Today and
Anguilla’s Daily Herald.
The Solicitor-General’s duties are now being performed by a “management team” comprised of several senior staff of the AG’s Office.
