Chamber General Meetings:

From year to year, specific dates may change, but the following summary provides an overview of Chamber and public events of interest to those in the business community. All Chamber events are promoted in the monthly newsletters throughout the year. Go to “News” to access the most recent newsletter – or “Contact Us” to inquire about specific events, listed herein.

Chamber General Meetings:

Annual General Meeting (AGM): The Chamber of Commerce Annual General Meeting (AGM) takes place during the month of January. The purpose of the meeting is to invite all members to nominate and elect the Board of Directors for the upcoming year, to report on the financial statements and key events, accomplishments and challenges for the previous year – and to establish goals and key events for the New Year. The meeting is typically scheduled at mid-day and is followed by an informal networking meeting and a light lunch.

April and July General Meetings: The Chamber of Commerce holds two additional general membership meetings in the months of April and July. The purpose of these meetings is to provide members with a forum for sharing best practices, providing input or guest speakers to address the topics of the day. These meetings are scheduled at the lunch or ****tail hour, depending on the guests and topics, followed by informal networking meetings and hors d’oeuvres or a light lunch.

Annual Business Survey General Meeting: The Chamber of Commerce invites the general membership to hear the results of the Annual Business Survey conducted by ClienTell Consulting LLC. The purpose of this meeting is to provide feedback to key Government agencies and members of the business infrastructure regarding their support to the economy in fostering growth and fair trade. A highlight of the meeting is to learn about the best practices and recognize the businesses most frequently named “best” in the survey. This meeting usually takes place in the month of August.

Annual Christmas Activities: The Chamber of Commerce invites the
business community to participate in various holiday events, such as,
exhibiting at the Christmas Fair, hosting a Fashion Show, and sharing
“One Voice of Commerce” at a Christmas Caroling reception and
networking meeting.

Chamber Workshops and Seminars

Since 2004, the Chamber has offered QuickBooks® beginning and advanced training to take every small business “From Paper to PC” using this certified and reliable software. Ms. Sabra Richardson, president of Simply Budgeting, is an accomplished and certified instructor for QuickBooks. Ms Richardson is on the island several times throughout the year, and her schedule is also available upon request.

In her Customer Satisfaction Management seminar, Ms Melinda K M Goddard, principal of ClienTell Consulting LLC, combines the basics of the Harvard and related research linking service quality to profitability with the 6 dimensions of managing satisfaction, and 6 proven steps to managing to regain loyalty when something goes wrong. This seminar has been offered at special Chamber rates in the second and fourth quarter of the year. This seminar has been provided with open registration as well as in dedicated sessions for larger organizations on the Island.

Other workshops, guest speaker events and special sessions are also announced in the newsletter and open to all Anguillian businesses for registration as cl*** or facility size will allow.
