We recall when all Anguillians and interested persons were informed that the Kidney Transplant Surgery of the Honourable Chief Minister, Osbourne B. Fleming, and the surgery of his donor Miss Ineke Williams were pronounced successful by their respective surgical teams at the Jackson Memorial Hospital, Miami, Florida. Today they both are in high spirits and enjoying full lives.
Mr. Fleming continues to express thanks first of all to God Almighty who is the giver of life. Mr. Fleming also expressed thanks and appreciation to all residents on
Anguilla and people abroad for their much needed and effectual prayers. Mr. Fleming said that his faith in God coupled with the prayers, concerns and extended well wishes of the people, were and still are his greatest source of strength. However, he also remarks continually that words cannot convey his appreciation for the donor and the priceless sacrifice made on his behalf. Mr. Fleming reiterated on many occasions that regardless of the yearning one has for a transplant all is lost without a donor.

Consequently, Mr. Fleming and Mrs. Lilian Sutherland, his sister in law, who also has first hand experience of the benefits and difference a transplant make to a life, will be the guests on Radio
Anguilla’s Social Solutions Programme on Saturday, February 17th, 2007, commencing at 8:30am to sensitise, share and inform the nation, region and possible the world, of the benefits of donating organs and make transplants realities. Mr. Fleming has always vowed to impress upon as many persons as possible the difference donating an organ and participating in the transplant programme can make to a life and living as experienced personally.
