Captains available to media on 10 & 11 March
The captains of the 16 competing teams in the ICC Cricket World Cup will be available to the media in Montego Bay on 10 and 11 March.
Each captain will undertake a media conference in St Andrew 2 on the ground floor of the Ritz Carlton Golf Resort and Spa in Rose Hall, St James. The schedule for the two days is as follows: Saturday 10 March 1000 Netherlands (Luuk van Troost) 1015 Kenya (Steve Tikolo) 1030 India (Rahul Dravid) 1045 West Indies (Brian Lara) 1100 Zimbabwe (Prosper Utseya) 1115 Bermuda (Irving Romaine) 1130 Ireland (Trent Johnston) 1145 Canada (John Davison) 1200 Scotland (Craig Wright) 1215 Bangladesh (Habibul Bashar) Sunday 11 March 1100 Australia (Ricky Ponting) 1115 England (Michael Vaughan) 1130 Pakistan (Inzamam-ul-Haq) 1145 South Africa (Graeme Smith) 1200 Sri Lanka (Mahela Jayawardene) 1215 New Zealand (Stephen Fleming) The online Media Information System (MIS) for accredited media at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 can now be accessed. This service will provide accredited media with up-to-date information on team schedules, statistics and player biographies as well as background information on the event and post-match quotes and audio and can be accessed at www.icc-cricket.com/mis All accredited media will be issued with p***words and there will be dedicated terminals at all of the ICC Cricket World Cup venues. If you are not accredited for the event but would like to access the MIS, particularly for audio and quotes from post-match media conferences, please contact James Fitzgerald of the ICC at: james.fitzgerald@icc-cricket.com The opening ceremony of the ninth ICC Cricket World Cup will take place at Trelawny in the north of Jamaica on Sunday 11 March, starting at 1730. Two days later the opening match of the tournament will be held at Sabina Park, Kingston when hosts the West Indies face Pakistan. The tournament will see 51 matches played between 16 teams with the final to be staged at Kensington Oval, Barbados on 28 April. Australia is the defending champion after beating India in the 2003 ICC Cricket World Cup final in Johannesburg in 2003.
